The Kentucky Schools To Watch program is being implemented in Kentucky this year and is modeled after and affiliated with the the National Schools to Watch Program sponsored by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform.

The Middle School House
The Center for Middle School Academic Achievement is a statewide collaborative project between Eastern Kentucky University and Murray State University. Its purpose is to improve the subject knowledge and instructional practice of middle school teachers through the coordination of professional development programs, provision of technical assistance, and dissemination of information and research regarding effective teaching.

Senate Bill 74 - Middle School Advanced Placement
Senate Bill 74 (an act relating to college preparatory educational programs), which passed during the legislative session of 2002 makes provisions for students in grades 5,6,7, or 8 to receive credit toward graduation and completion of high school course requirements.

National Middle School Association -NMSA
NMSA is the only national education association dedicated exclusively to the growth of middle level education. NMSA welcomes and provides support to anyone interested in the health and education of young adolescents.
Southern Regional Education Board
This partnership allows participating schools to receive intensive assistance in data-based decision-making processes, program evaluation, curriculum alignment, instructional planning, and professional development. Kentucky participates in two initiatives with SREB's member states and partner school districts to raise the achievement of middle grade students.
Making Middle Grades Work Consortium
The goal of this consortium is to raise the academic achievement of all middle grade students. Technical assistance visits help school leaders and teachers identify changes needed to improve student achievement in the middle grades by implementing a comprehensive improvement framework, which includes comprehensive planning.
National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform
The Forum identifies and disseminates best practices, articulates and promotes effective policies, recognizes and develops enlightened leadership, and informs and engages the public in middle grades reform.
National Schools To Watch
The National Forum identifies schools that are academically excellent, responsive to the developmental challenges of young adolescents, and socially equitable, with high expectations for all students.
National GEAR UP
A discretionary grant program designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.
National Association for Secondary School Principals
NASSP has an online community for principals, assistant principals and aspiring principals.
