The Kentucky Department of Education, in partnership with Phi Delta Kappa and Future Educators Association, is dedicated to the support of middle and high school students interested in pursuing careers in the education profession. FEA is a federally recognized Career and Technical Student Organization and the largest support organization for middle and high school future-teacher programs in the United States.
FEA and KDE work together to develop the next generation of great educators by helping to:
· Attract exemplary future educators and begin averting teacher shortages at a local level, particularly within the areas of math, science, and special education;
· Encourage students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to enter the education profession; and
· Elevate the image of teaching and promote it as a challenging and rewarding career.
In order to better serve all members and provide everyone with access to the resources, information and opportunities available through FEA, membership has changed from a "chapter-based" membership to and individual-based membership. Annual FEA international individual dues are $8.00 per person (student or advisor) with and additional state fee of $4.00 per person.
FEA state dues will be used to enhance state-wide future educator programs and opportunities such as: professional training and development for advisors, state or regional events/conferences for students and the growth of programs in effort to serve more students.
